Submission Guidelines And Themes

Not Just Stamping welcomes your creative submissions. Create a card or item that fits with the given theme. Email a scan or photo (see tips below) to editor@notjuststamping.com with "Submissions" and the theme in the subject line. Items MUST be your own work.

We will choose a selection and show them in the issue appropriate to the theme. Artists will be required to send a list of stamps and special materials used and brief instructions if a special technique is used. Each artist published in Not Just Stamping will receive the issue their work appears in or have an extra issue tacked on to their subscription. Our readers will be asked to vote (only one vote per reader) for their favourite and the artist with most votes will also receive a prize donated by one of our kind sponsors. (See Home Page for current prizes.)

Tips For Submitting Your Work

  • Read guidelines carefully and adhere to them.
  • If themes are given feel free to interpret them in your own way but don't stray off the subject altogether.
  • Photos and scans need to be as clear as possible. If you are submitting a card, ATC, layout or similar scan it or lay it flat against a plain background and photograph from above to keep it rectangular. If the item is three-dimensional photograph it in a good light against a plain background.
  • Even if you are an inexperienced crafter do not be afraid to submit your work. Sometimes an item is chosen for an original idea, clever use of colours or materials rather than the expertise it has been made with.
  • If your work is not chosen don't be dejected. Work can be chosen for how it fits in with a theme, how colours work with other pieces and many other reasons. If at first you don't succeed keep on trying!
